It usually takes about 1 hour to install GasSaver when fitted to boilers, and no additional time when fitted as an integral part of the boiler. SuperFlow installation time is the same as for a traditional cylinder.
Based on an average property consumption of 20,500 kWh, savings of around 37% of the total hot water demand, or 37% of (20,500/4) = 1896kWh (£75 @ 4p per kWh).
GasSaver is fully charged within 15 to 30 minutes of central heating operation, depending on residual heat from previous operation. SuperFlow is fully effective within 6 minutes or less.
With no central heating operation, there is less wasted energy to recover, however tests show that the GasSaver can still recover enough energy to supply around 15% of your hot water demand. SuperFlow controls the thermal store to operate in summer without activating the main heating circuit.
GasSaver dimensions are W400, H278, D285 (mm). When fitted, the bottom of the GasSaver is 75mm from the top of the boiler.
GasSaver and SuperFlow have been tested by independent organisations, including TNO, TUV and Gastec. Energy efficiency claims are based on independent results.
GasSaver saves energy when you most need savings, in the winter, which gives GasSaver two main advantages over solar-thermal systems that (1) only generate significant heat in the summer, and (2) require a large hot-water cylinder that requires gas consumption that outweighs savings.
